OVERVIEW
Shop Naturally is our e-commerce store and we own Eco Pick Pack. Founded in 2009, we have been picking and packing our own orders for our online store by leaving a minimal footprint from the very beginning. Shop Naturally has a strong focus on REUSE EVERYTHING WE CAN GET OUR HANDS ON because a lot of materials come through our building. A few short years ago after a tech stack upgrade, we developed an efficient system in house and instantly halved the time it took us to do everything.
After one of the brands we stock at Shop Naturally asked us to do their Pick Pack for them, we realised there was a great business here, Australia’s first Eco Friend Pick Pack service for small business. And we can take care of you too.
WHY CREATE A 3PL
It wasn’t until the founders of Australian eco brand Nuebar approached us about picking and packing their orders that we ever considered doing this for other people. Katie & Kerry approached several 3PL companies, big and small, and they were either priced out of the service or they weren’t prepared to make up packs or handle their wholesale orders in a way that was remotely profitable for them. And we have heard the same story from other clients. And we’ve heard them directly from the 3PL companies while speaking to them at Retail Industry events.
Small brands, and eco brands in particular, are not being catered to well by large 3PL companies. We have fixed that.
WHAT WE DO FOR OUR OWN ONLINE STORE, SHOP NATURALLY
Since we started in 2009, we have been reusing packing materials from suppliers. We collect empty wine boxes from local bottle shops and collect newspaper from a local retirement village to use as void fill when appropriate. We do have new packing materials in our warehouse too, but we only use them when necessary. There’s no bubble wrap, we have installed water activated paper tape machines in the packing room and streamlined the pick pack system so we do consolidated picking (we can do one sweep around the warehouse with a trolley and pick 40 orders at a time). We use a system to handle shipping that exchanges data between our online store and the courier companies and all labels are generated with a quick scan of the packing slips. No manual label generation, no weighing or measuring parcels either. All these things save time and money.

We can offer the ultimate bespoke solution for your small brand, while having the capacity to grow with you as your business expands. Eco Pick Pack isn’t tied in to the rigid systems put in place in giant warehouses with a team of 50. We bend and flex like someone in an advance yoga class! You will be assigned a team leader and the same person will oversea your pick pack every day. The little things that make your business unique will not be missed when we do your pick pack.
Here’s just a handful of services we can provide that you just won’t see from a large 3PL.
Handle stock without barcodes
We understand small brands don’t barcode all their stock. We offer a bespoke personal service and it doesn’t matter to us whether your stock is barcoded or not.
Pick Pack Customer Orders
For established brands, we can offer a fixed price per customer order including packing materials based on your current sales. We can also cost your customer orders on the number of SKU’s on individual orders to keep the price down for a new business.
We don’t charge you to use your boxes
Ask any large 3PL what happens when you want to use your own boxes and they will charge you a pick fee to pick your box. It’s an unnecessary cost. Stock levels for packing materials can be monitored manually. You shouldn’t have to pay 50c more per order to use a box with your logo on it.
Product / Social Media Photography
Our warehouse has a professional photo studio set up using natural light. We do all of the product photography, advertising and social media photography for Shop Naturally ourselves. We can do yours too. Our prices are affordable and for the absolute WOW factor, we work closely with a professional product photographer when you’re ready to step up a notch.
Product / Pack Assembly
Keep costs down and have us make your packs in bulk as the stock arrives. This service can be offered at an hourly rate to make it more affordable or a fixed price per pack.
Pick Pack Wholesale Orders
No two wholesale orders are the same. Working out a fixed price for packing a wholesale order with little profit is costly in a large 3PL. We process wholesale orders on a ‘per minute’ basis so you can afford it. We understand the different profit margins on wholesale vs retail orders.
Discounted Freight
We get better freight costs from Australia Post and other carriers because of the volume of orders we send. Use our freight account to save on every order or you can bring your own freight account if you have negotiated amazing rates. You can even use both and pick the cheapest yourself.
