THE FIRST OF OUR KIND
We are Australia’s first dedicated Plastic Free Pick Pack service. We started Eco Pick Pack in 2019 when one of the brands we stocked in our own e-commerce store, Shop Naturally, was relocating to New Zealand and wanted to leave their stock in Australia. They ran into brick wall after brick wall when every 3PL they spoke to was either too expensive, wouldn’t take them on because of their size or couldn’t guarantee a plastic free experience.
When frustration set in, they asked us if we would do their pick pack because they had already had a warehouse tour and seen how efficient and seamless our process was, and our ability to be flexible with their needs.
We have been running our own e-commerce store, Shop Naturally, since 2009. We also owned online beauty store Beautiful Because for 5 years and have experience with running multiple brands from one facility. We have picked & pack well over a million products and shipped them to our customers all over Australia. We excel at it.
We have always specialised in Plastic Free packing in our own e-commerce business and are now offering the service to other small brands who are passionate about eco-friendly order fulfillment.
Our attention to detail and total ‘hands on’ understanding of what it takes to run and build a small business is what makes us different to every other 3PL company you will speak to.

ABOUT OUR PACKING MATERIALS
Eco Pick Pack specialise in using eco friendly packing materials to pack orders. We have water activated paper tape machines instead of plastic tape. There’s no plastic bubblewrap on site, but we use paper honeycomb wrap that cushions like bubble wrap does. Instead of using plastic air pockets for cushioning in orders, we have a Ranpak PadPak machine on site that creates brown paper cushions that are very effective at providing cushioning.
We don’t actively encourage the use of compostable mailers, but we are happy to use them if it’s your packing material of choice. We find most products are better packed in cardboard boxes which offer better protection and are usually the same price as a compostable mailer. Our research showed that most compostable mailers end up in landfill and not composted. In landfill they emit methane gas as they decompose. A lack of oxygen in landfill means they don’t actually compost and break down like they do in a compost bin.
Since the inception of our own e-commerce business back in 2009, we have always rescued packing materials to use for our own customer orders. We have a steady supply of used wine boxes and newspaper to use for void fill. Even if it’s just for your B2B orders, if you are happy using pre-loved packing materials, we can reduce the overall cost of your packing materials by giving something a second life before it gets recycled.

ABOUT THEOWNER
Joanne Swadling (formerly Musgrave) has been creating boutique businesses for over 25 years. When she contracted Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) at the age of 24, she used her skills to become self-employed instead relying on the welfare system to survive. Before Eco Pick Pak was conceived, she started by creating a simple music tuition business through to a boutique web design agency with over 200 clients, to multiple online stores and mentoring other e-commerce owners.
Joanne is eternally grateful to the amazing team of staff who work with her each day to give the same personal attention to detail to each and every part of the process, whether she’s on the warehouse floor getting her hands dirty or working from her home office.
Joanne has also been featured on the Foxtel business show Industry Leaders and personally on-boards every new 3PL client to ensure the process is perfect before handing the day to day pick pack over to her team of staff.
In her spare time, Joanne is a musician, singer / songwriter and enjoys yoga and archery.
